Counting Crows
A Themed Group Exhibit at The Fraser Gallery in Tatamagouche by Five for Silver, a group of artists hailing from the Halifax area: Painters, Heather Crout, Denise Soper, Colleen Underwood, and Potter/Ceramicists, Judy Gordon and Shauna MacLeod.
"One Crow for Sorrow" is how it begins. There are various versions of this rhyme, and each line and "crow" tells a story. Collectively, we are intrigued by the ideas to be explored, each one holding its own nuance. Each piece in this exhibit tells an aspect of that story - From sorrow to joy, silver and gold, wishes and kisses and secrets, never to be told...
Originally scheduled for the summer of 2020, this exhibit opened on Friday, July 9th with a reception at The Fraser in Tatamagouche. Each artist has created work inspired by different versions of the crow rhyme to delight the eye and surprise the viewer.
