Studio visits by chance or call ahead.
Mary Jane Lundy is a full-time ceramic artist based in East Dover, Nova Scotia, just a short drive from the iconic Peggy’s Cove.
Since earning her BFA in Ceramics from NSCAD University in 2003, she has dedicated herself to her studio practice, working primarily with Nova Scotia’s own Lantz red earthenware clay.
Mary Jane’s sculptural work is rooted in slab-building techniques and brought to life through her signature use of layered, brightly colored glazes. This approach gives her pieces a distinct richness in texture and depth. Deeply inspired by the natural world around her, she draws from the marine life of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the birds, animals, and coastal flora that surround her home.
In addition to her studio work, Mary Jane teaches clay and meditation workshops, blending creative exploration with mindfulness. Through these workshops, she invites participants to slow down, connect with the material, and engage with the artistic process in a meaningful and restorative way.
