Mary Jane Lundy has been a full time studio ceramic artist since graduating from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in 2003 with a BFAmajor in Ceramics. Her home is in East Dover, Nova Scotia only 12 minutes from Peggy's Cove. She is a clay sculptor/artist who works in slab building construction using the local clay called Nova Scotia Lantz red earthenware . Her use of layering bright color glazes on the clay surfaces creates depth and texture. She is inspired by the sea life found in the Maritime waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the birds and animals and plant life that inhabits its shorelines.
