This necklace is a statement piece. The fist is a symbol of power and represents the fight, or what I want to fight for. I chose:  Health (Mental and Physical), Equality/diversity, Climate change, Communication.

What would you fight for?

Everyone has their own fight.  I hope this piece evokes conversation and thoughts about what would be worthy enough to fight for (or against).

The lifecycle of a Butterfly has four stages: Egg, Caterpillar, Emerging butterfly from the Pupa Stage into a miracle of life:The Butterfly.  Butterflies represent rebirth and transformation. To me they are magical and colourful. Part of my inspiration is that the lifespan of a butterfly is so short - a few weeks to a month. Their lives are so fleeting and this thought makes me want to seize every day and live life to the fullest.

Summer - One Season out of Four Cup

4”H x 2 5/8”W

Cone 6 porcelaneous clay

$150

My inspiration for this piece is simple: I love swimming in the ocean and walking the beach wherever and whenever I can. I have used this pattern “Seascape” on various other pieces through my years as a potter. I have elevated this small piece by painting the inside a brilliant blue colour. The blue is reflective of the sky and water in summer. I call it COVID19 Blue. Enjoy this piece having a drink by the ocean.

C L U B Sandwich

4”W x 4”L x 3-1/2”H

Cone 6 porcelaneous clay

$420

Four letters, four crucial ingredients (and more).

I thought this would be a fun and creative way to bring in the number four component. I love food and cooking. Some say the club sandwich is an acronym for “Chicken and Lettuce Under Bacon”; however, research has us believing it was called a Club Sandwich because it was created in the kitchen of a “Club” in New York State.

Artist’s Bio

I have been a clay artist for most of my life.  Clay was my profession and I was a production potter for 30+ years. The qualities clay has as a medium are totally enthralling, infuriating and inspiring.  It keeps you fascinated.  Inspirations come from my surroundings – friends, family, world travel, a keen sense of humour and life experience in general.
