The NSPG Executive is looking for an individual to take on the job of placing a maximum of 4 group orders annually for clay & pottery supplies, for the members of the Guild. With the direction and support of the Executive, the candidate will negotiate orders from the three potential suppliers- Tuckers, Pottery Supply House (PSH) and Sial. You will have to establish new terms and conditions with each of them as you coordinate the orders; and potentially create a new system through which the entire province will source material.
The candidate will need to be organized, self-motivated, having a working knowledge of pottery and potters’ needs, physically able to sort/move/load orders once delivered and available to answer all questions and concerns of members who have placed orders. Being timely, accurate, and detail-oriented, will be a huge advantage.
Responsibilities would include:
Contact the supplier for the order to notify them of upcoming order
Be the main contact for the entire order
Compose letter to get the word out to the membership through FB, email and the website
Set up pick up time and location with the trucking company
Set up pick up time with members
Be on site for the pick up
The work load for the first couple of orders will be heavy to start but once the systems are in place (negotiating terms, setting up systems, and setting up a working plan with loading docks) the time commitment will be less. This position will be paid an honourarium of $200/order. Anyone interested in this position should submit a letter of intent highlighting any relevant experience to Sharon Fiske or Judy Gordon – Co-presidents of the NSPG.
