“Love at first feel” describes how my love affair with clay began, which has now spanned four decades. Through a myriad of workshops, classes at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and years of studio experience, I have honed my craft to produce distinctive functional and decorative ware.
I presently live in the Gaspereau Valley of Nova Scotia. The subtle variations, rhythms, and patterns of this engaging landscape inform my work as I strive to create pieces that add beauty to your home and enhance your food presentations. I use a warm, rich, dark brown, medium-fired stoneware clay, fired in an electric kiln. The focus of my current work is an exploration of visual and tactile variations through carving, slip trailing and multiple glazing details which are unique on each piece.
“When you put your hand against my pots you are palm to palm with the artist.” -Nadine Gordimer
I invite you to embrace this awareness as you hold and use the works of art in your life.
