Debra Kuzyk

Debra Kuzyk is a clay-based artist living and working in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, where she maintains a fulltime studio practice. In 1999, together with Ray Mackie, she established and operated Lucky Rabbit Pottery studio and gallery. In 2017 she opened Lucky Rabbit & Co. artists’ collective, for which she and her collogues were honored with an Industry Leadership Award from the Atlantic Crafts Alliance in 2022. In 2022 she closed her gallery and embarked on a solo art career.

Debra has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University and Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan. She completed a year long residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and recently was the resident artist in the Zoology Department at the Museum of Natural History in Halifax, NS.

Her work has been exhibited and published in Canada and internationally, and is included in public collections, notably the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Craft Nova Scotia Permanent Collection, the Permanent Collection of Contemporary Ceramics at the Burlington Arts Centre, the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery, and the Gardiner Museum.
