Herman-
Spartinelli,
My Shady
Business
Starting at age 14 as a volunteer in a long-term care home, I had the opportunity to use the pottery studio. That’s where I fell in love with clay!
I continued to build small sculptures over the years. In 1981 I went to Chastain Art Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, and took classes that helped me technically.
Over the years life got busy. Running my construction business and children left no time for my art. Working with clients, I saw the lack of choice of unique light fixtures. When I decided to retire from construction I renovated a space for a studio and started creating functional art.
I use white earthenware and handbuild. What I see in my surroundings inspires me. Wall sconces, pendants, ceiling fixtures are just the beginning.
You can find my work here.
