In my past, I have studied art and art history. My pottery skills came through an apprenticeship in 1982. It is a wonderful way to learn where you can be exposed to not only the making of thepots, but also glaze making, loading and firing kilns. I worked with electric kilns, as well aswood and propane fired kilns. Working in an established pottery business I also learned the very practical aspects of running a business. Over the years I have learned so much from other potterswho are so generous in their sharing of skills and information.
My pottery is made using Porcelain or Stoneware clay. It is fired in a propane fueled kiln to 2350 degrees F. I owned and operated Amicus Gallery in Chester for 23 years, before moving my studio in 2020 into my home at 167 Prince St., Chester. I have been splitting my time between making pottery, gardening, walking my dog and many good books.
