Gallery hours vary seasonally. Summer hours: Monday-Saturday 10-5, Sunday 12-4. Other times Saturday 10-5 or by chance or appointment.
My studio is on the second floor above the gallery. I opened the gallery in 1996, not realizing how much time that was going to take away from the studio. Most of my pots get made when things are quiet downstairs in the off season. I am open to commissions if they capture my imagination, or if they are things I like to make.
I work in both porcelain and stoneware clay, making functional pottery glazed to reflect the landscape around me. I still do some hand painted porcelain pieces as well, usually floral. Occasionally, I just play with the glazes
I studied art at Marietta College, Marietta Ohio, and the Museum of Fine Art School in Boston. I studied Art History at Boston University and University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. I learned my pottery skills through an apprenticeship with Goose Rocks Pottery in Kennebunkport, Maine and from the many potters who have shared information over the years. I have worked making pottery since 1982.
