Born in Vancouver, British Columbia sculptor Miro Davis has nurtured an intricate yet broad-based creative practice. Formally trained at NSCADU Davis’ work is best described as a mixed media practice; her artistic work brings together diverse individuals and groups through visual art, underscoring the importance of creativity in our day-to-day lives and to society as a whole.
Davis is a Social Sculptor, transforming and shaping environment and society through art, building collective spaces and communities through accessible public works.
Davis’ collaborative sculptural murals have garnered critical and popular acclaim in the US and Canada and are permanently installed throughout an extensive collection of organizations, hospitals, universities, community centres, and institutions.
Davis was appointed Research Fellow at NSCADU, Artist-in-Residence with: United Way, Dalhousie Medical University, the Dickson Cancer Hospital, and the IWK Hospital. Davis currently lives, works, and teaches in Nova Scotia, while traveling between provinces to work on collective large-scale wall installations, as well as hibernating into intimate works inspired by the Nature surrounding her studio at Sunshine Farm.
