Jo-Ann has been making pottery as a hobby since 1988. Through the years, she has gained experience in various techniques but has settled on wheel throwing and slab building as her most favored methods. As an avid miniaturist, she also perfects her skills in throwing miniature pottery on both a full-size wheel and on a mini wheel. In 2016, she began teaching evening pottery at the George Dixon Centre through the City of Halifax. She has recently opened her own studio named Seize The Clay in Head Chezzetcook and is offering 8-week pottery classes and 1-day workshops. Also popular are her shorter Taste of Clay sessions, featuring a 3-week wheel throwing class over the span of 4 weeks. She is also open to private pottery events. Great for birthday parties, showers and the like!
