Natural Whorlds Pottery

Spry Bay, NS

I've enjoyed making pottery for 16 years. When throwing on the wheel or hand-building, I love to incorporate the natural world into clay, allowing lupins or spirals of seaweed to live year-round in my functional pots. I offer hand-building workshops and welcome commissions.

Now retired as a pediatrician and professor specializing in Palliative Care and Director of Dalhousie's Humanities Program, I'm grateful for my seaside home and studio life.

I am especially drawn to functional pieces. Incorporating the natural world in my work allows lupins and daisies to live year-round along with sprays of evergreen needles and spirals of seaweed.

Pottery was my antidote to stress during my work-life as a pediatrician specializing in pediatric palliative care. Now retired, pottery and poetry fill my days living beside the sea at my home and studio in Spry Bay. In addition to my own work, I welcome commissions and offer hand-building workshops at my studio.
