Mucky Me Pottery Classes

Working as a pottery artist and additionally focusing on horticultural endeavors through the summer, I am a lover of all forms of creation.  I learned about pottery at a young age and felt drawn to its capabilities.  It wasn’t until I had grown and settled in Pictou County that I was able to find this passion again.  I reunited myself with the medium by reading, observing and practicing different techniques until I developed my own methods.

For eight years I have been selling my work at various festivals, café’s, farmers markets and gift shops throughout Nova Scotia.  Following my fathers example as a teacher, I have felt comfortable sharing my experience with others and have enjoyed teaching various pottery classes over the past few years.

In March 2017 We opened a storefront and studio in New Glasgow.  Our storefront/ coffee shop offers customers a selection of 'paint your own' earthenware pottery items, while in our studio space we are teaching pottery wheel, and handbuilding classes using stoneware clays.  My students are encouraged to explore, and develop their own methods, while finding  perfection in each unique piece they create.  We appriciate the differences in our work, culture, history, inspirations, personalities, and artistic styles.  To further reflect these values we chose to name our store Perfect Diversity.  In the studio I will always continue to experiment, research and be innovative, but most of all, I will choose to follow a path that only creativity can reveal.  My own work often reflects a freedom of composition found in nature or it contains a slight reverie of life's past inspirations.
